Transitioning?

Hi all you fruit lovers :)

This post is going to be about transitioning, what my experience is and what I recommend.
Some people can go raw from one day to another and never look back. This only happens in the few, so to those of you who struggle a bit more with craving I have a piece of advice.

First of all, treat yourself with love as best as you can. Be kind to yourself and understand that you are always doing the best you can at the time! As long as you keep your goal in mind, you are gonna get there, no matter the journey. We tend to beat ourselves up, because we think we are not gonna move unless we do that, but what we resist persists, so we are only adding energy to the craving and other negative emotions. I will soon make a blog post about how much our cravings are really mental and how we can work with that and not against it.

Secondly you can chose to transition more gradually towards raw. That is what I have been doing and found to work really efficiently. Before I was more of an "all or nothing" kind of person and that led me to eat lots of vegan junk when I did not eat raw.

If you come from a SAD (Standard American Diet), I would recommend to replace one meal at a time. Start with breakfast and keep all your other meals vegan and low fat. 2 weeks later replace lunch. 2 weeks later cut out all salt, gluten and other processed foods. 2 weeks later go all raw. By that time you have slowly detoxed and gotten your taste buds and mind used to eating in a new way.

If you come from a vegan junk diet follow the above.

If you come from a low fat vegan diet - or a partly raw diet, I would start replacing both lunch and breakfast. And for dinner I would eat very simply, like potatoes, quinoa, rice with herbs and fresh/boiled vegetables. Only eat rice occasionally as it is a grain, which is quite acidic forming in the body temple.

I do not eat any salt and I do not miss it! I used to see myself as a salt addict and it was the one thing that was hard for me to give up. But going more slowly, allowing cooked has helped me cut it out. My tricks are to put some lime juice on the rice/quinoa and lots of herbs like fresh dill, coriander, parsley etc.

Going to this stage, allowing myself to transition, is a huge improvement in my mindset. It is a more forgiving mindset than the "all or nothing", "be perfect or give up". So if you struggle with cravings and come to this place, it is a great step closer to being raw. Being fully raw only happens with the right mindset, and it is a lifestyle of love, so only treating ourselves with love will bring us there. I will explain this further in the next blog post so stay tuned.

Please let me know if my advice was of any help for you :) Let me know if there is anything YOU would like to know/ hear about.

My intention with this blog, is to bring love, peace and acceptance to you, and this blog is dedicated to YOU :)

Karezza

Long time no see!

A lot of stuff has been going on lately. I got my dream job, working for a Danish animal rights organization and I am now, finally, united with my soulmate, Pau. Something I waited 6 months for!

So it seems things are getting better and better. LoA (Law of Attraction) is working quite well and the practices I do to reach a higher state, a better life, are also working. So now I will reveal a new one, one that seems to be so crucial.

Back in April I read the book "Cupid's Poisoned Arrow", which I got recommended from my dear friend, Jack. It was, in fact, this book that would later unite me with my soulmate. I find this book to be as important for relationships and general wellbeing as 80/10/10 is to diet and health.

I am going to summarize the main points of the book and I would definitely recommend that everyone read it! You can find the website here: www.reuniting.info.

In the book, it is stated that orgasm is harmful to us and our relationships. This is supported scientifically as well as by ancient texts.

Enjoy now, pay later
An orgasm is an explosion of mainly dopamine in our brain. In fact so much dopamine is released at once that our synapses burn down and leave us basically numb for a cycle of two weeks. Our synapses do not sense small to normal amounts of dopamine anymore and therefore this cycle pushes us further into addictions such as junkfood, alcohol, shopping, gambling, porn and masturbation. In the 14 days cycle we become more lustful in order to pursue another dopamine rush.

Spreading the genes
What happens when we pursue our lust and passion with a partner, is really that we are controlled by the amygdala in the brain. This is the primitive part of the brain, going for pleasure, avoiding pain. Our genes are supposed to be spread, as much as possible, therefore sex with as many partners as possible is the best thing, from the amygdala's point of view. When we have sex with our partner, we turn on that part of the brain. So actually when the orgasm has been achieved, we are gradually made to feel tired of our partner and tempted to start looking for someone else.

The way it works is that after the initial honeymoon period (when we are very much in love), we gradually become satiated or tired of our partner. This leads us to want to look for someone new after up to about 3 years with the same person. This is to ensure the survival of a potential child. After that period of time, it is time to spread our genes in a new place. Therefore a lot of relationships start to have trouble after about 2 to 3 years. People then focus a lot in the "flaws" and begin to get tired of the other person, but actually that is just what the genes let us see.

This is very thoroughly explained in the book, from a hormonal and neurochemical point of view.

Karezza and bonding behaviours
What the book recommends then is a form of lovemaking called Karezza combined with bonding behaviors. It stems from the Italian word carezza, to caress. Karezza is all based on giving to the other partner, the opposite of lust, where it is about taking something, wanting to have that pleasure. Karezza is being connected, meaning intercourse, but with very little to no movement. The focus is on slow and deep breathing, relaxation, giving and sending healing energy to the other partner.

Bonding behaviors are likewise behaviors where you give to your partner, touching the partner in a gentle, caring and loving manner. Touch is caring, rather than regular hungry touch. It can be in many forms: hugging, kissing, caressing, gazing into each other's eyes. This releases the hormone called oxytocin, which is actually a hormone that keeps us in love with our partner and strengthens the relationship.

Karezza is described in many ancient texts, which is explained in the book. It would also seem that Tantra was originally orgasm free, but the original, esoteric teachings were distorted over time.

The book is filled with testimonials of people going orgasm free and doing karezza. Though, at first, it might seem like a sacrifice to most people, people describe the act of karezza as the most blissful and spiritual experience one can have. Once they get out of the passion cycle (14 days after orgasm), they suddenly begin to see their partner in a whole new light and the world seems like a better place.

This is extremely briefly explained.

My own experience
Something about the book just felt so right to me, and I knew instantly that it would be something I wanted to try. You don't have to feel like that, though, but I would still recommend you giving it a try!

I have now practiced karezza and bonding behaviors for several weeks and the difference is big. How did I notice the difference?

In the book it is actually recommended that, after being free of orgasm for a few weeks, we at some point go for the pleasure and put ourselves in the passion cycle. Doing that we will notice the great difference. So I did that, and wow. It is exactly like going raw. You might feel like you are doing good and fine eating cooked, but once you go raw you start to know how bad you actually felt before!

Being in the passion cycle I was constantly lustful and unable to enjoy karezza. I was a lot more worried, depressed and insecure during the 14 days, and at times my partner looked like an octopus (very unappealing). By the end of the 14 days, it was the worst. The last 3-4 days of the cycle I was in such a deep depression I could not get out of bed. I hated the world, I hated everything. I would have strong food cravings too. And it so dawned on me: 30 seconds of pleasure will NEVER be worth those 14 days of suffering. Some days in the cycle are better of course, but it does leave you like an emotional wreck. Most people try to fix that, of course, by having another "relieving" orgasm, but this just keeps them perpetually in the cycle - never feeling their best.

Now, being out of it, the world is suddenly beautiful again. My partner is a god again and I feel much more calm and stable. Food cravings are a lot better too.

You can approach Karezza a lot like you approach 811. You might feel like you have to give up something pleasurable - like that chocolate cake or pasta. But it is like eat now, pay later, have an orgasm now, pay later. And the benefits you can reap from karezza are far beyond amazing. It might take some months to get fully out of the addiction, but with the addiction we would never really be fully ourselves either. And orgasm IS an ADDICTION. It is CONTROLLING YOU. The way to reach the best life you can ever reach, is to get rid of all addictions whatsoever and control your own life.

Read the book, be open, give it a try. I am all in for a better world and I do believe this is an important part of it, just as with diet. And unfortunately I have seen a lot of people on 30BaD dismissing this and that shows that even raw people can be close minded. Openmindedness is not just about diet.

This might heal your life and relationship in ways you could never imagine.

Eating for a new earth

A lot of talk is going about 2012. Is it apocalypse, is it a change, what it is? Personally I believe a change. It must be clear to all, who just has a little bit of knowledge about what is going on, that we cannot continue the way we are, we are destroying this precious planet. We are at a turning point, things has to change and they will change for the better.

Today I watched the documentary called "2012 a time for change". They had many good aspects included like yoga, permaculture, meditation etc. But it really dawned on me how the most important aspects were missing.

They were talking about how they believe that 2012 is the year for a change. A change that will bring humanity back in contact with their true self, their inner divinity. They were giving all these examples on how to achieve that, through meditation, yoga, and certain drugs used in tribes. But there was no single notation on diet. Nothing.

When I started living 811, everything changed for me. In a very short time. Up until the end of last year, I was extremely depressed, insecure, suicidal and addicted to several substances and behaviours. I was living like a zombie and only waiting for the next fix. Which is how most people live today. But when I changed my diet, some radical changes occured. Suddenly I didn't need all those things. Suddenly I realized that the key to happiness was inside of myself. Suddenly I realized the beauty of life, the beauty of people, fruit and nature, of everything. I felt so whole, like a missing puzzle, in the form of fruit, had filled my body with sweet, juicy love and contentment.
I then later stumbled upon the book "Left in the dark" by Graham Gynn and Tony Wright. That book basically explained everything I had experienced. I will recommend everyone to read it. In short I will explain the main points, but it really does not give the same picture unless read.
The book explains a hypothesis about how our brain does not function optimally. We have a very dominant lefthalf of the brain. That part supresses the righthalf and we therefore only use a fraction of our potential. The left brain is very logical, it is very liniar and fearfull. In the right brain we have access to more profound knowledge about ourselfes, the purpose of our life, the universe plus some very creative skills, way beyond imagination. In short, this dysfunctionality occured because we were forced out of our natural habitat and forced to eat meat. Originally we lived in tropics and ate a mainly fruitbased diet. Fruit contains a lot of biochemicals and steriodsupressers, which led to a developement in the brain. When we suddenly missed out on all these biochemicals and started eating steriodcontaining meat, it affected out brain in the opposite direction. It is explained much more thorougly with much more detail and scientific data to support in the book. I really believe the hypothesis in that book is crucial knowledge and it really supports how eating a fruitbased and meatfree diet makes us happier, more loving, compassionate and in tune with life and our real purpose.

Isn't that the place to start? I mean we can try meditation, yoga etc. but if we still carry a dysfunctional brain, we will always miss a piece of the puzzle. We will never quite get there. Eating the right diet is CRUCIAL to creating a better world in my eyes.

Not only is the diet loving to our body and mind, but also to our planet. No animal except from the occasional bug, will ever be killed. We help the fruits spread their beautifull seeds and fruit is in fact the most sustainable produce! Fruits grow mostly vertically, so on and acre we can grow a lot more fruit on fruittrees, than grains. And to be honest, the fruitbliss you experience after being raw for some time, is unexplainable. It is heaven on earth.

So I send an email to the makers behind the documentary. If this can be spread to as many as possible, we start to see the new eart evovling faster. My dream is to make a mainstream documentary about this lifestyle. And I intend on making my dreams come true ;)

Eating disorder

Hi guys and gals!
Originally I inteded to do my very first youtube video about my journey to 811, but now I will already give a little sneakpeak in this blogpost. The reason for that, is that I feel it is important for people with eating disorders to know there is a way out - for good! A way that means no restriction whatsoever, no pain, and a healthy body and mind.

Ever since I can remember I have hated my body. I looked at all the slim girls and doomed God for not giving me such a body. I was a bit chuby when I was 10, and my grandmother litterally told me to eat less. I felt pressure from myself and from the outside to be slimmer and when I was 10 I remember deciding never to eat again. Of course I could not stick to that and I hated myself for my "lack of willpower". The next couple of years I went of different diets and became a rather slim, but normal teenager. But I still was not satisfyed. After eating as I wished for christmas 2004, I decided to really go on a diet again, and this time it was for good. In a matter of few months I lost a lot of weight and came down to only 38 kg with my 174 cm.
I then was admitted to the mentalhospital, stayed there 9 months.

Me at my skinniest, feeling awfull.

To cut this very long story short, I spend many many years of my life still in eatingdisorder. It was not until I found 811 that I was able to go past that for good.

But why can something as simple as diet heal a mental disease?
Well there are many factors. The mind and the body are no to single units, the are connected and if you have and unhealthy body you have an unhealthy mind vica versa. In general some mainfactors can be lined up:
  • Your brain runs solely on glucose. The best source for glucose is fruit, since fruit is also packed with nutrients. When you get sufficient fuel, you start to think clearly. This means that you have to eat enough cals on 811, meaning at least 2500 for women and 3000 for men.
  • When you have a optimal* functioning brain, it becomes so much easier to do mentalwork. Diet cannot solely remove your mentaldisorders, but it can really help you to deal with them properly.
  • Once you stop filling your body with crap and dead animals, whoes meat are filled with fear, you stop having so much fear and negative emotions in your body.
  • Once you get sufficient sleep, water and sun, it helps a great deal too. Give your body optimal circumstances for optimal mental and physical health.
For me, there were a lot of other points to add.  They all came with eating sufficient fruitcals and ACCEPTING myself. My whole life I have not accepted myself and for the first 8 months of 811 I was not able to accept myself and kept pushing the lifestyle on myself, not accepting if I fell of the wagon. Once I started to accept where I was, I was able to stick to it. There is a lot of mentalwork to be done with an eating disorder, but give yourself the best circumstances physically and it becomes a lot more easier.

There is SO much more to add, but I was inspired to do a quickie on this right now, to maybe help anyone with eating disorders or anyone struggling with staying 811. An eating disorder is not defined by weight, it is defined by your mentalstate. Meaning you can be normalweight but still have an eating disorder. And in this prorestriction, food and skinnyobsessed society, almost everyone has an eating disorder more or less.
It all comes down to how you feel about yourself. And now it is time to let it go. Take the opportunity to become the real you, a shiny, loving being. You were born to love, not to hate. And you cannot fully love others before you love yourself.

Stay tuned for a soon to come first youtubevideo and other blogposts.

Raw 811 spaghetti Bolognese!

Yumyum, this is so good. It reminds me of spaghetti bolognese, since the sauce  is thick and very tastefull. It is simple and overtfree, give it a try!

For one person:
1-2 zucchinis, spiralized
3-4 springonions chopped
dill

sauce: 3-4 mangoes, approx 70 gr unsalted sundried tomatoes, rehydrated. Blend in foodprocesser.

It is as simple as that! Enjoy

No plastic!

After watching the documentary "Plastic Planet" I am rapidly reducing my use of plastic and would love to have a No platis policy, but unfortunately it is almost impossible living in this society.
It has become really evident to me, how deeply the use of plastic is ingrained in our society. Even this computer I am typing on, contains plastic. Clothes, bottles, food containers, toothbrush, bags, toys, electronics and the list goes on.
It wouldn't be any problem if it weren't for the very harmfull substances in plastic. Not only harmfull to you, but to everything around you. It takes hundreds of thousands of years for plastic to be broken down and once it breaks down, toxic substances are released. Millions of seaanimals die every year from consuming plastic. The sea is now filled with plastictrash...

Almost all plastics are derived from oil. A lot of chemicals are added for either colour, texture or use. a lot of theese chemicals leach very easily when in contact with sunlight, heat (for instance hot water) or fatty substances (food, or you touching it!). Many of theese chemicals are hormonalike substances that disturb the hormonal balance in the body a lot.
If you wish to know more about it, you can see "Plastic Planet" for free here:

My glasbottle and jar

Here's some tips to what you can do to reduce plasticuse:
  • Always bring a cottonbag with you and always decline whenever the grocery store offers to give you a plastic bag. Cottonbags last for years and years and has almost zero harm to the planet (organic ones) compaired to plastic ones
  • Buy fruit engros, in big boxes. That way you avoid every single fruit to be wrapped in plastic
  • Buy glassbottles and containes, jars, to put food and water in. I am never gonna buy a plastic bottle of water again, not with the knowledge of what it contains in that water. The chemcals also leach into your food if you contain food in plastic.
  • If female, buy a ladycup (it is made from silikone, not harmfull at all) or organic cottonpads. Normal onetimepads are made of plastic and you have a lot of plasticwaste throwing them out after use. Cottonpads are reusable after wash.
  • Look for palsticfree alternatives online. You can find several website with good alternatives. For instance: http://lifewithoutplastic.com/

Update on shoulder

I can now gladly come with a very positive update! The pain is completely gone. And I can move my arm in every single direction I used to without problem or cracking in the joint. Yaay!
What really did the difference was when I talked to my yoga teatcher. I went to yoga last tuesday but had to much pain to do it. I then left crying because it really affects me when I can't do yoga. The temporary teatcher was coincidently (I do not believe in coicidences) a fysiotherapist! She came up to me and told me that I have absolutely nothing to worry about and that it will heal fast. That did it! Because even though I really worked on the healing, every time I feeled pain I focused to much on the pain and feeling sorry for myself rather than healing. I made it all waaay bigger in my head than it was and to hear that is was no biggie, stopped my vicious cycle of bad thoughts and the pain stopped. This really shows to me how much the mind and the body is related, in fact is one.

I did yoga yesterday and had no problems! I am carefull during the practice though and especially in chaduranga and upward dog, since it puts a lot of pressure on shoulder and arms.

I am so very gratefull to know the things I know. We have so much power and we do really create our own lives. Life is so wonderful and abundent :)
